We recommend following these steps to get started with SpreadsheetGear 2009:

  1. See Installing SpreadsheetGear 2009 for installation information.
  2. See Using Help for information on using this help including limitations of the online version.
  3. See each of the topics under Key Concepts for an introduction to workbook sets, workbooks, worksheets, ranges, charts and more.
  4. See the SpreadsheetGear Assembly Overview which compares the SpreadsheetGear API to the Excel API. Take special note of the suggestion that you can frequently learn how to do something in the SpreadsheetGear 2009 API by recording a macro in Excel and looking at the generated VBA code.
  5. See Using the Samples and take some time to look at the installed SpreadsheetGear Explorer sample solutions as well as the live web samples at www.SpreadsheetGear.com. These samples have been built over time to show developers how to take advantage of the most frequently used features with the SpreadsheetGear APIs.
  6. Follow the tutorials which demonstrate building a simple Console Application, a simple Windows Forms Application and a simple ASP.NET Website using SpreadsheetGear 2009.
